Mini Roasts have launched at Tesco!

Grant’s Foods have expanded their product offering with the introduction of the “Mini Roasts” range. The new product range comprises of BBQ Pulled Beef, BBQ Pulled Pork, Roast Beef in a Rich Gravy, and Roast Gammon in a Sweet Sticky Glaze.

The range is made using only high quality, natural ingredients, select hand-cut pieces of meat using no additives, flavourings or preservatives. The flavours were inspired by the BBQ Pulled Pork and Beef trend that is currently sweeping through restaurants across the UK with a value of £31 million as a prepared take-home product . Whereas, the Roast Beef in a Rich Gravy and Roast Gammon in a Sweet Sticky Glaze were inspired by the traditional Sunday roast.

Nicola Young, Grant’s Foods marketing executive said “The range is exciting and original, each product packed full of flavour and made with high quality ingredients, going against the perception that canned goods are boring, old fashioned and unhealthy . It is a range that will really stand out the on shelves.”
The product and packaging was influenced by upmarket gastro pubs, designed to appeal to younger consumers. The packaging combines the mouth-watering product shot against a stark black background, focusing the consumer’s attention entirely on the succulent, juicy product.
The new range is available in selected Tesco stores.

The Dunblane New Course features 18 challenging yet enjoyable holes suitable for any handicap. The course boasts stunning views of the Forth Valley, Campsie Fells and Stirling Castle.

The ‘Chef’s Choice’ range was developed with chefs in mind to create ready meals suitable for use in the fast paced food-service industry. The new packaging for the range is bright and colourful,  featuring mouth-watering images of the products served as a meal solution.

Each product within the ‘Chef’s Choice’ range is made using 100% of the finest, natural ingredients available, free from additives, colourings, flavouring and preservatives. The versatility of the products allows chefs to put their own unique twist on each ready meal. The range includes pie and pasty fillings like Stewed Steak, Minced Beef & Onions and Steak and Kidney, authentic curries and Mexican favourites like Chilli Con Carne which could be used in tacos, burritos and nachos.

As Grant’s Foods continually strive to create new, exciting and on-trend products, we will be launching two new products to the range including: BBQ Pulled Pork and BBQ Pulled Beef.

The people at Food Awards Scotland have been very busy of late! Thousands of members of the Scottish public had all been asked for opinions and nominations on who they feel were the best in the Food Industry within several different categories.

Grants were thrilled to hear that we had been nominated in the Ambient Manufacturer of the Year Category as one of the best in Scotland, up against some stiff competition.

The Crown Plaza Hotel in Glasgow was the venue of a glamorous Black Tie event held on Monday 17th August 2015. Suspense building we awaited to hear our placing.

Delighted to say that we awarded overall winner in our category! So its official, Grants Foods is the “Ambient Manufacturer of the Year 2015”

The award pays tribute to each member of the hard working team at Grants Foods Ltd. We wont be resting on our laurels though and will continue to deliver the great products which put us into this position.

Haggis for Heroes 2015

Hundreds of Royal Marines are ending their tours of duty around the world at the start of Feb 2015 and return their home base in Plymouth.

At Grant’s we like to make sure our troops get to come back to a traditional Scottish Burns Supper. To make sure this happens Grants are donating Haggis to their base in Plymouth. Which will allow them to hold their very own Burns Supper event.

The event will take place on 19th February, photos of the event to follow.

In a recent article from the Kilmarnock Standard by Ian Russell, Grants is said to be “one of Irvine valley’s biggest success stories”. Grant’s new International inspired canned ready meals are the talk of the town at the moment. These are due to be launched in March in Asda stores all over the Scotland. The International canned range consists of brand new products such as Moroccan Chicken, Piri Piri Chicken and Chicken Fajita, as well as the usual favourites like Chilli Con Carne and Beef Bolognese.

At the same time Grants are going to be introducing a new Scottish soup range. Keeping to the good Scottish flavours such as Chicken and Rice, Scotch broth and Lentil and Bacon. These will also be available from Asda stores in Scotland from March 2015.

Grant’s best-selling Premium Haggis is now available in 234 Asda stores south of the border from the start of May 2014.

Grant’s Haggis is currently available in all major retailers in Scotland as well as Waitrose and EH Booth supermarkets south of the border.

We regularly receive lots of interest from people in England and Wales for Grant’s Haggis all year round and not just in January for Burns Night. Haggis is becoming increasingly more popular as a cooking ingredient throughout the UK.

It is great that we are now able to send customers south of the border in the direction of Asda.

Grant’s Foods launches ‘Chef’s Choice’ Canned Ready Meals

Grant’s Foods Ltd has broadened its product range within the Food Service sector and has recently launched a selection of canned catering products named ‘Chef’s Choice’. This range consists of 8 products and includes delicious pie fillings such as Stewed Steak, Steak & Kidney and Minced Beef & Onion, an authentic selection of Chicken and Beef curries as well as the old Mexican favourite Chilli con Carne and Vegetable Chilli.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Chef’s Choice Range. These great tasting, convenient products are made from the best quality ingredients from local suppliers. They also look great on shelf in Cash and Carries with their bight, colourful packaging.” Claire Inglis, Account Marketing Manager.

This range has been developed with the help of Chef’s and Caterers and all the products are ‘free from’ artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. This allows for chefs to be creative with these dishes and add extra seasoning, spices, peppers etc in order to create ‘ownership’ of the dish.

HAGGIS FOR HEROES – UKMCC celebrates “Burns night”

The staff of the UKMCC HQ, based in Bahrain, has been given the opportunity to celebrate “Burns night” when they received tins of “Haggis for Heroes” from Grant’s despite being thousands of miles from Scotland.

The tins of Haggis, where donated by Grant’s Haggis under their “Haggis for Heroes” scheme.

Lieutenant Jim Butler who was the coordinator for the delivery of the Haggis tins said: “It is great that Grant’s have run the Haggis for Heroes scheme and donated this to the staff in UKMCC as it means that we can partake in some tradition whilst deployed, especially as haggis is not readily available in the Middle East.

The UKMCC HQ is responsible for the operational control, logisitics and engineering support for Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxilary assets that are both permanently based in Bahrain or deployed to the region.

The Royal Navy maintains a presence in the region to conduct maritime security patrols to actively deter, disrupt and suppress piracy and the unlawful use of the sea in order to protect global maritime security and secure freedom of navigation for the benefit of all nations.

Haggis for Heroes – free haggis for troops!

‘Haggis for Heroes’ has started up again for up and coming Burns Night 2013. This campaign allows friends and family of troops serving abroad to send their loved ones a can of Grant’s haggis to celebrate Burns Night.

With extensive media coverage, including Clyde 1 and West FM radio stations, last year the campaign was a huge success, leading to a pledge from Grant’s to continue running it for years to come. Marketing Manager Claire Inglis said: “Haggis for Heroes received a fantastic response from members of the public who wanted to help soldiers celebrate one of our historic national traditions and send them ‘a wee bit of Scotland in a can’. We offered this service to individuals completely free of charge and included a personal message from each of them to the soldier it was going to.”

The Haggis for Heroes campaign will run each year from 30th November to 25th January. People can send haggis to their soldier by going to www.haggisforheroes.com and filling in the address details.

Our NPD department have created a brand new, delicious Christmas Casserole on the run up to the Festive Season.

Hotcan are the first company we have produced this delicious festive treat for, with many more to follow!

Each can contains succulent pieces of turkey, a chipolata sausage, stuffing ball and brussel sprout in a rich gravy with a hint of cranberry and sage.  Santa will be ho ho ho-ping you leave him one at the bottom of your chimney!

Grant’s Gourmet Range which launched in September 2011 has got off to a flying start by winning a prestigious industry award. Leading food and drink publication The Grocer has named Grant’s as the winner of ‘Top Product Launch of 2011’ for its latest collection of canned ready meals.

Offering high quality ingredients, carefully sourced and selected from local suppliers, the Gourmet Range features Chilli Con Carne, Beef Bolognese, Venison Casserole, Minced Beef & Onions, Scottish Beef Steak in Gravy, Irish Stew and Boeuf Bourguignon.

Haggis Hurling World Championships

A fantastic time was had by all at this year’s World Championship Haggis Hurling Competition, proudly sponsored by Grant’s. The event featured at the Bearsden & Milngavie Highland Games in June, with everyone from kids, parents and even the Police taking a shot at hurling the haggis bungs.

Grant’s Marketing Manager Claire Inglis was at the event: “The whole day was highly entertaining, with loads of fun and hilarity. We had celebrity guest appearances from Miss Scotland and also ex-Rugby Pro Gavin Hastings who was our commentator.  The ‘haggis heavyweights’ took to the floor later in the afternoon and the crowds were amazed by the sheer distance they were able to throw the haggis bungs!  The Championship winner was Lorne Colthart, with each of the Top Three receiving prize money and some complimentary Grant’s haggis.”
